I got to participate in the March RAKScraps Newsletter where they did “Your Photos 5 Ways”. They chose a winner and five of us at RAKScraps scrapped her photos. Here is my 2 page layout for her. These photos are just sooooooo cute of her son!

Yesterday (Saturday) was just beautiful! It got up to just about 70 degrees. We got a little yard work done, too! I knew the winds were going to start blowing by afternoon, so we got out earlier in the morning to fertilize the grass and do a little clean up. By afternoon, the winds were blowing somewhat, but it was okay.

Well, by evening, I was sitting in my office and I heard this loud ongoing noise! I thought maybe it was an airplane going overhead or something! I looked out my window, and saw that the winds were blowing like crazy! I got up and went to the main part of the house and looked outside. Our fence was bowing in and out. I can’t believe it’s still standing. Suddenly, I hear a pounding on the roof and there goes a roof shingle! Then another. My dh ran out to pick them up so we could replace them later. However, they just kept coming! Then we noticed that our shed (that takes 6 men to move it when it is empty!) had moved about 25 feet towards the fence. Luckily it hit the dirt and didn’t break down the fence.

Another neighbor’s wooden playset with swings and a fort had been blown about 10 feet over and broke down the neighbor’s fence. The wind was swirling around so hard..I had visions of a tornado picking up my house and taking it away! Then the snow started coming down.

We had some power flickers, so I decided to close down my computer. It’s a good thing, because we got several more long flickers and then the power went out! We got out the candles and decided there was nothing much else to do but go to bed. Thanks to the smart thinking of my dh, we went around and turned off the lights so they wouldn’t go on in the middle of the night if the power went back on. Then we went to bed.

Well, about 1am, the lamp on my lamptable by my bed flashed on! Now, if THAT isn’t a rude awakening! Apparently I forgot I had turned that light on earlier. The clock was flashing and bugging me and I couldn’t figure out how to set it, so I turned it on its face and went back to bed.

This is a view from my back door. The trampoline in the back corner stayed put. I’ve seen wind bursts pick up trampolines and carry them down the street! This one only had a couple legs fall off.

Here’s the lovely leftovers of my roof!

If you notice the bottom item … that is half of the roof to my smaller shed. The larger shed needs to go back to the side of the house behind the smaller shed. It’s bigger than it looks in this photo. AND it’s full of stuff! Wish me luck getting this back in place!

Okay, can you believe I have never played raquetball before! I’m a tennis player … though I haven’t played tennis for a few years. I bought my family a member at our local rec center. I wanted to go walk the track for exercise. They have raquetball courts there and I take my 10-yo son with me because I homeschool him.

Well, my son talked me into playing raquetball with him. We had a blast. So now my 16-yo dd and my son and his friend go every morning to play. It’s most exercise than I figured it would be!

Actually, the first day I took my dd, I got more exercise laughing at both of us than anything else! I could hardly breathe I was laughing so hard. My daughter bounced the ball and then it bounced back at her neck. She said in a fake raspy voice, “I hit my neck and I can’t talk!”

We laughted at ourselves so hard, she was on the floor. I wished I had my camera with me. So today I took it. Do you know that when you play raquetball with your camera around your neck, it hits you all over the place? Picture this…I’m playing raquetball with one hand, holding the camera with the other hand, and then trying to take a picture of my daughter and not get hit by the ball!

I’ve been so inspired lately by so many things. I might expand on this later, but it is late tonight. Just wanted to say that I just finished re-designing my website at DesignItDigital.com. It’s always fun to get a new, fresh look! I used papers from my Le Memoir Paper Pack.

I had to scrap this. As you can see, this is my son who decided to grow his hair long. The main photo is where he messed it up just before styling it. Great photo!

After 6 months or so, he started thinking that this was a lot of work. Trying to get it to lay just right, straightening it with a flat iron, burning his hair… Then he went out and got it cut.

Wow! There is a good looking kid under all that hair. What a difference a cut can make. Of course, I love him no matter what. But….

I love my new avatar. Aren’t I adorable! Thanks to Rhonna Farrer and her amazing talent.

I enjoyed a wonderful 24-hour retreat away from kids. Rhonna Farrer, April Anderton, Laura Vanderbeek and I spent the wee hours talking about…..hmmm….what else but scrapping!!!!

The next day we went to a fun place for lunch that looks like it is in an old train station. Cafe Sabor has the best Mexican food. We met with Digital Scrapbooking’s Best & Brightest Creative Team Members Tiffany and Ange.
